If You Care .... (The Lawsuit)

If you care about our County Government being righteous in what they do,
and you read a portion of the firefighters complaint filed against the County
you will wonder what the heck is going on.
You will wonder why something was not done about this because it was the right thing to do.

A few things that I considered when reading the complaint

  • The Michele Legace complaint was settled for $175,000.

  • Legace's charges are contained here, and in my layman's view, if not true the settlement with her would have or should have established them as not true, knowing this suit was pending.

  • The EEOC ruled in favor of the firefighters.

  • There is a tape of Jim Bramblett warning them to "Play Ball".

I personally believe the charges are true.  Are there other factors the County believes are relevant?  I sure don't know.
I can not imagine any factors that would excuse the actions outlined in this complaint.

I would have liked to have seen our County Commissioners make this right before it came to a lawsuit, or even before it went to the EEOC, because it was the right thing to do.

So Why didn't they?  You will have to ask them.
After the big settlement of course.
