Hundreds gathered at the Earle May Boat Basin as the City of Bainbridge presented the First Annual Christmas on the River.

While the children scurried about, some roasting marshmallows, others, young and old took horse and buggy rides around the area.  Music of the holiday season filled the air as Adult and Children's Choirs of local churches and solos of Christmas music were performed.

With the last solo, the 30 foot tree was lit by Mayor Mark Harrell. Shortly after, the sound of a fire engine caught the children's attention and they knew he was coming. Santa arrived.

A wonderful first time event that everyone is sure to look forward to for many years to come.
