"I don't ride with seatbelts" Marchester said as he was receiving his warning ticket. Students Against Destructive Decisions, SADD, teamed up with the Decatur County Sheriff's for a BHS road check on Tuesday afternoon.
SADD works to change destructive habits among their fellow students. Sheriff's Deputies, School Resource Officers and 22 SADD students manned the 4 gates as the High School students left in their vehicles. BHS Co-Sponsors of SADD are Sheila Taylor and Heather Savage. They gave out 25 warning tickets which included 4 for no drivers license.
Sheriff's Captain Terry Phillips, Captain Cecilia Willis and Lt Rick Ashley talked with SADD students at their meeting after the road check. They emphasized the importance of being a positive influence on other students.
And Marchester, I think you should beware of those blue lights when you ride now.
