Democratic Party Dumps Bishop

After towing the line for the Democratic Party since 1993, US Representative Sanford Bishop has been offered up as a seat the Democrats can afford to sacrifice.

I can only assume Congressman Bishop was ordered to vote FOR the massive 2,000 page "Healthcare" bill last weekend.  Many of his advisors even told him not to vote for it because it is evident by polls and telephone calls that voters in his district do not want this bill, but "the party" had to have it passed.  The "leadership" had to pick the seats that they felt they could afford to lose.

It is truly a shame that Congressman Bishop was not allowed to stand by his principles as a Blue Dog Democrat.

I guess the House "leadership" tried to be fair allowing Georgia Blue Dogs to split the state's vote.  Is it obvious they just went down an alphabetical list?

Georgia Blue Dog Democrats vote on "healthcare" bill.
Barrow D (GA-12) No Blue Dog (assumed office in 2005)
Bishop D (GA-2) Yes Blue Dog (assumed office in 1993)
Marshall D (GA-8) No Blue Dog (assumed office in 2003)
Scott D (GA-13) Yes Blue Dog (assumed office in 2003)

Now Congressman Bishop wants everyone to come and help "celebrate" and issued this-

You are invited to attend a celebration and thank you with Congressman Bishop. He will hold a rally at each of his offices to celebrate the passing of the House bill for Health Care (H.R. 3962, the “Affordable Health Care for America Act.”).

Please contact friends, supporters, organize caravans -bring balloons, cards, signs and people to celebrate health care and the public option!
------------------

One gathering is at his office in Thomasville on Friday at 4:45 pm
Thomasville Office
137 East Jackson Street, Thomasville, GA 31792
Phone: (229) 226-7789

Many Bainbridge and Decatur County citizens are planning to attend the event in an attempt to show Congressman Bishop that he should stand on his Blue Dog principles and oppose this Unaffordable Who Knows What Is In It and We Really Don't Care Cause We Just Want To Pass It piece of legislation.

We hope you will attend and bring the appropriate signs.
