Phil Long
In what appears to be a statement from Bainbridge citizen's against the status quo of government, Phil Long won over incumbent Greg Waddell by a margin of 327 votes, 678 to 351 in the City Council race for the District B seat.

A number of citizens expressed to us they felt the need to fill the seat with a citizen that was not in the "established group" of the council.

Tuesday's unofficial vote had not been finalized as of 10 pm and there are a few provisional ballots to be examined before the results are official, but no major change is anticipated.

In District A, incumbent Joe L Sweet was re-elected over his challenger Robert Coney, 69 - 19.

Glennie Cox Bench had no opposition and will fill the Council At-Large seat.

Edward Reynolds had no opposition for Bainbridge Mayor.

After the City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, Mayor-elect Reynolds stated he is looking forward to it and noted there would be some challenges, particularly in the area of the budget.

Mayor-elect Reynolds indicated he would like more emphasis on the Development Authority in bringing jobs to Bainbridge.  He stated continuing Bainbridge's improvements our infrastructure, in particular the master sewer plan, is important so that when jobs become available Bainbridge is at the front of the line.
