An alert neighbor's report of 2 suspicious males allowed Sheriff's Deputy Brett Trammell to capture 2 suspects burglarizing a home on Country Club Road.

This was the 2nd burglary on Monday where Sheriff's Deputies caught 2 burglars minutes after a break-in.  Later in the day, 2 burglars were captured off Jacksontown Road at about 5 pm.

The alert neighbor first reported 2 suspicious suspects walk into a resident's back yard on Country Club Road at about 10:20 am.  She reported that they had then run into a wooded area.  Deputy Trammell responded but had no luck locating them.

About 30 minutes later, the neighbor reported the same 2 on the porch of the home.  Deputy Trammell arrived and spotted the front door was now cracked open.  Deputy Trammell called for backup and headed for the home.  As he did, the front door slowly opened and one suspect stepped out and looked around.

When he spotted the Deputy, he ducked back into the residence.  Deputy Trammell heard foot steps inside the residence and he headed towards the back yard.

The 2 suspects took off out the back door.  The deputy alerted responding deputies that he was in a chase and took off after them.  The two suspects split up, one running south to the woods and the other running north towards Country Club Road.

Deputy Trammell chased the subject on Country Club Road ordering him to stop.  He didn't stop until he got to a fence and tried to quickly climb it.  Before he could get over, Deputy Trammell grabbed him by the shirt and put him on the ground.

The deputy walked the suspect, identified as Derrick Butler, back to his patrol car where several person's were gathering.  The other suspect that had run was identified as Nelson Alexander.  A couple of minutes later, Deputy Trammell looked up to see Nelson Alexander standing at the scene.  He was taken into custody and handcuffed.

It was discovered that Nelson Alexander was actively sought for an arrest warrant for other burglaries.  These arrests also cleared several previous burglaries at the same Country Club Road home plus several other Fowlstown Road burglaries.

Derrick Terrell Butler, 18, of 107 Harper Lane and Nelson Terrell Alexander, 18, of 4251 Fowlstown Road were charged with obstruction of an officer and burglary.
