Cliff Renn arrived home to see burglars in his home on Old Faceville Road at about 4 pm on Monday.  He banged on the window at them and then, because they might be armed, began to back his truck out of his driveway.

The 2 culprits took off running and Renn chased them to where they went into the wooded area.  He then waited for Sheriff's Deputies Brett Trammell and Daryl Long to arrive.  Deputies set up a perimeter and requested the tracking dogs from ACI.

Deputies spoke with residents and 2 names surfaced as possible suspects.  At least one of the suspects, 19 year old Fred Wayne Walker Jr, lived a very short distance away on Jacksontown Road.  The 2nd suspect was 19 year old Stephen Alton Hopper Jr of Tallahassee.

Chief Deputy Jim Morris stated he knew if the names were correct they would be heading home.  Across from their home was a car path into the wooded area so he walked the path.  Chief Morris stated that all of a sudden the 2 popped out in front of him and, with gun drawn, ordered them to the ground.  They were arrested at about 5 pm.

Cliff Renn identified the 2 as the burglars of his home.  Investigators discovered another home that the two had hit.  Investigator Julian Crowder took over the investigation and Captain Gale Bowyer responded and processed the scenes.
