Certainly Crystal Eidson, 24, should have put on her seatbelt, but in the wisdom of the Georgia State Legislature, she is not required to do so in her pickup.  A seatbelt would probably have safeguarded her injured face that sent her to the hospital.

Crystal Eidson stated, and a witness confirmed, that a blue car cut her off as she was heading east on Shotwell Street. She  slammed on breaks and swerved to miss it.

Her truck skidded 75 feet into the rear of a Chevy Suburban sitting in the middle turn lane.

Waiting to turn was Meredith Runkle, 29, in the Suburban.  When struck, the Suburban was flung into the Public Safety parking lot where it came to a stop.  She was buckled up along with her 4 year old, and suffered only a bruised arm.

EMS transported Ms Eidson to the hospital and BPS Major Walter Landrum worked the crash.
