The Bainbridge Bearcats won over against a tough Hardaway team Friday 27-21.  The Golden Hawk's big, quick quarterback spent much of the night scrambling away from the charging Bearcat defense.

The Bearcats took a 7-0 lead over Hardaway in the first quarter.

After stopping Hardaway, their punter picked up a bad snap and ran for a 1st down.  When their drive again stalled on our 27, they missed a field goal attempt with 9 minutes left in the half.  The Golden Hawks were able to score on a short pass tying the game with 4:30 left in the half.

The Bearcats then drove the field on several key pass plays, and with 38 seconds in the half, regained the lead with a pass to Melzie Johnson.  At the half it was 14-7 Bearcats.

With under 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter,  recovered a fumble.  A couple of running plays later, the Cats took it in to take a 14 point lead, 21-7.

With about 4 minutes to go in the 3rd, Hardaway slipped a receiver past us and scored from the 14 yard line.

A big hit caused a fumble giving them the ball.  The Hawks were able to take it down to the 14 where they had 1st and 10.  The defense stiffened and a field goal try failed leaving the score 21-14.

A few minutes later we had the ball with a 4th and 1 on our 40 yard line. Coach Ed Pilcher decided to go for it and resulted in a 25 yard run to their 35 yard line.  A pass interference call gave us a needed first down, and a few plays later, Keenan Adams kicked a 30 yard field goal.   That gave us the cushion we needed with 5 minutes to play.

The Bearcats kicked another field goal, and late in the game, Hardaway scored to bring the final score to 27-21.
