Sheriff's Deputies arrested John Goodman II for cocaine Wednesday afternoon on Newton Road.

Sheriff's Investigator Chip Nix observed a truck all over the road and called for another Deputy.  Deputy Steve Black was close by and initiated the stop and the truck continued for about 1/4 mile before coming to a complete stop.  John Goodman exited his truck to speak to the deputies.

Below is Goodman with EMS and Deputies

Investigator Nix observed Goodman trying to swallow something he had hidden in his mouth.  He and Sgt. Ed Moorehead attempted to get Goodman to remove the unknown substance from his mouth and he fought to stop them.

Mr Goodman finally removed the substance from his mouth with his finger and wiped it on his truck's tailgate.  Mr Goodman also resisted when Deputies were handcuffing him.

Investigator Nix tested the substance that was on the tailgate and it tested positive for cocaine.  Investigator Nix and Deputy Black also found an unlabeled prescription bottle in his pocket that Mr Goodman stated was his wife's prescription.

EMS had been called due to Mr Goodman swallowing the substance and he was transported to the hospital for evaluation and a blood test.

33 year old John Larry Goodman II of Aryola Drive was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a schedule 2 drug, failure to maintain lane and tampering with evidence.
