Heat Wins Dothan Heat Play It Again Tourney

Panhandle Heat 12u Gold won the Dothan Heat Invitational September 12th going undefeated throughout the entire day.

The Heat came from behind to win in the last few minutes in 2 games to remain undefeated and to keep playing. Gold glove performances went to Makalla Hamilton playing a very strong 2nd base and to McKynleigh Harrell at S.S. The Slugger award went to Mabry Grace Briggs when she hit a 2 RBI triple in the last few minutes for a come from behind win. The excellent performances from the mound came from Taylor Lee, Hollie Smith, and Bree Powell. Good pitching and a strong defense win ball games and this weekend proved just that.

"Our bats were cold but our defense was next to none this weekend and that is what kept us in every game" said Coach Greg.  "We were out hit in every game this weekend but we made the big time plays to keep us in every game and to give ourselves the opportunity to win."
