Joann Harden, 48, was traveling north on Highway 27 in her Chevy Cavalier. Kerry Joe Smart, 43, along with 4 teenagers in his Lexus, was heading east on Bethel. Mr Smart failed to yield to Ms Hardin. The result was a hard hitting crash.
Both vehicles spun with Mr Smart's car spinning 180 degrees and stopping just beyond the stop sign. Ms Hardin's vehicle also went into a spin and she left the roadway traveling sideways. She spun at least 1 and 1/2 times coming to rest some 35 yards further.
As EMS tended to Ms Hardin, Public Safety used the jaws of life to remove her car door. Captain Jack bunting worked the crash.
