The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Flood Warning For Spring Creek.

Issued by the NWS:

On Tuesday, August 26th at 9:00 pm the water level was at 16.6 feet

Forecast
Wednesday, August 27th  by 7:00 am  18.7 feet
Thursday, August 28th      by 8:00 am  17.3 feet

As of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, the reading for Spring Creek was 14.42 feet.

Flood stage is 16 feet.

All residents along Spring Creek are urged to take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Flood waters are subject to rise very quickly, and with grounds already saturated, the potential for flash flooding is increased.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 12 noon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Decatur County until Tuesday morning. Bands of heavy rain are continuing to move eastward into the area the rest of today and tonight from Tropical Storm Fay. Rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected with local amounts as high as 6 inches. With the ground already saturated, flash flooding is possible.

A Flood Warning is still in effect for the Flint River at Bainbridge.
The Flint River at Bainbridge is expected to crest at 23.5 feet on Thursday, August 28th at 8:00 p.m. The current reading for the Flint River as of 12:45 today was 19.89 feet. Flood stage is 25 feet.

Spring Creek is expected to continue to rise over the next several days. The current reading is 8.03 feet, with a flood stage of 14 feet.

Barricades are placed at various locations around the City of Bainbridge due to flooding. Barricades should not be moved by citizens and vehicles should not drive on barricaded roads.

Sandbags are available from the Decatur County Road Department on the corner of Airport and Butler Ferry Rd for all city and county citizens.

Citizens are encouraged to monitor weather conditions. Residents in low lying areas take action to protect life and property from rapidly rising flood waters.

Local shelters have not been set up at this time.

2. Palmer Rd - from Old Whigham Rd to Friendship Cemetary.
3. Wautauga Rd - from Hwy 262 to Hwy 27S.
4. Millwhite Rd - from Railroad tracks to Willis Rd.
5. Country Club Rd - from Country Club to Whispering Pines Dr.
6. Jones Rd - from 438 Jones Rd to Jones Meredith Rd.
7. Allen Phillips Rd - from 194 Allen Phillips to 252 Allen Phillips Rd.
8. Martin Rd - from Prosperity Church Rd to Hwy 97N.
9. Ward Rd - from Ward Rd to Viola Farm Rd.
10. Old Post Office Loop - from 145 Old Post Office Loop to 207.
11. Rock Pond Rd
12. Bower Station Rd - from Hwy 27S to Bailey Rd.
13. Johnny Skipper Rd - from Hwy 27S to Railroad Tracks.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a flood warning for the Flint River in Bainbridge. Predictions are for the Flint River in Bainbridge to crest Thursday morning, August 28, 2008 at 25 feet.

Flood stage for the Flint River is 25 feet.  At this stage, minor lowland flooding is expected.

The river forecast center advises that Spring Creek is expected to reach 14 feet by noon on Monday, August 25, 2008 and 16 feet Tuesday, August 26th.

Current Reading as of 4:15 pm Sunday:
Flint River     19.41 ft
Spring Creek     4.35 ft

Road Closings For City Of Bainbridge

1. Pine St & Boulevard At The Holding Pond Is Closed.
2. College St & Wheat Av At The Holding Pond Is Closed.

There are several streets around the City of Bainbridge where barricades have been placed due to water over the road. Citizens should not drive around the barricades or move them to go through the water.

3. Jacksontown Rd from Old Faceville Rd To Faceville-Attapulgus Rd is Closed.
4. Wautauga Rd from Hwy 262S To Hwy 27S is Closed.
5. Millwhite Rd from The Railroad Tracks To Willis Rd is Closed.
6. Jinks Crossing from Booster Club Rd To Moses Chapel is Closed.
7. Hatcher Rd from 1063 To 1158 Hatcher Rd is Closed.
8. Martin Rd from Prosperity Church Rd To Hwy 97 is Closed.
9. Country Club Rd is Closed At Hwy 309s And Whispering Pines Dr.
10. Rock Pond Rd from Brock Cemetary Rd To Eddie Avery Rd is Closed.
11. Fowlstown Hwy (State Rd 309s) At Johnny Skipper Rd is Closed.

Mandatory evacuations are not being made at this time. However, residents should make preparations to protect life and property.
