Over 123 participants turned out on Saturday, August 7th for Trey's 5K Eagle Trot with lots of family and friends cheering them on.

The 5K race was Trey Walker's Eagle Scout project and a huge success. All of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society's Animal Shelter. Trey, an 8th grader at Bainbridge Middle School is the son of Billy and Rhonda Walker.

Trey stated that he was really amazed at the number of participants they had and the support of the community for this project. "This was really a unique Eagle Scout project," stated Scout Master Dr. John Reynolds.

Despite the hot, humid morning and the presence of millions of gnats, runners made their way through the hilly course. Following the 5K, many of the younger runners participated in a 1K Fun Run.
