Highway 27 and Woodhull Crash

About 1 pm on Monday, a crash on Highway 27 south at Woodhull Road sent 3 people to the hospital.

William Casteel was crossing Highway 27 in his Red Mazda 323 when he was struck by Benzy Hurley in his green Toyota.  The door to the red Mazda was severely crushed into the car trapping the passenger.

Decatur County Rescue and volunteers used the jaws of life to remove the car door extricating the passenger.  EMS transported 3 to the hospital with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.

Georgia State Troopers W West and CL Hall worked the crash and stated the Mazda crossed in front of the Toyota which was not able to stop.  There were only 46 ft of skid marks before the crash.
