July 30
Sgt. Marvin Knight responded to the hospital for an assault on a 57 year old man. The man stated he was at a Cooper Street residence doing work requested by the owner. He stated the son of the owner, Robert Coney, had told him not to come on the property any more and approached him.
Robert walked up and swung a 2 X 4 at him which he blocked with his arm. He then left the area to prevent any more fighting. The hospital reported a break in his arm and Sgt Knight also noted scratches on the side of the victim's face.
The resident of the Cooper Street home also reported that Robert had been threatening her by telling her that if he had a gun he would shoot her. Robert Coney was arrested at his Bruton Street home and charged with disorderly conduct. Robert Coney admitted striking the man with the 2x4 board.
July 29
At about 1 pm, a Water Street resident reported a trespass to Captain Robert Humphrey. The complainant reported that several days earlier a black female came to her house representing Hospice. She stated that she was not wearing a uniform and did not present any identification. The complainant believed she was looking for something to steal because she walked around the house as if she was searching for something and then left.
Then on July 28, the female returned and walked right into the house without knocking. She again looked around the house and then asked the resident if she could purchase some lipstick that was on the dresser. She was again made to leave the residence. Hospice has never been called to the home.
July 29
At about 3:45 pm, Public Safety Officer John Mills responded to a call at North Collier Street and Vada Road. Several juveniles were playing in the woods and found a rifle in the wooded area beside Carter Street. The Marlin 30/30 with a Bushnell scope rifle was found around 30 feet off the roadway. Investigators Mark Esquivel, James Dollar and Chris Jordan responded and photographed and took possession of the rifle.
July 28
Capt Chip Nix and Inv. Redell Walton were conducting surveillance on Duke Wells Road for copper theft. They spotted William Este Dollar walk up to a utility pole and cut approximately 5 feet of copper ground wire from it. William Dollar was arrested at the scene. The cost to repair the ground wire was estimated to be about $750. He was interviewed confessed to cutting the copper off the power pole.
July 27
A $6,000 burglary on Oglethorpe Road was reported by a resident to Deputy Brett Trammell. The home had been vandalized and a number of items missing. It appeared the burglar entered the residence through a window. Investigator Brian Donalson and CSI Gale Bowyer responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
The complainant reported items missing included a 2 seat go-cart $1,000, assorted gold jewelry $2,500, 32 in Sharp TV $800, Dell desktop computer $300, electric guitar $250, 2 gold lamps $75, DVD Player $60, 2 necklaces $600, 2 bracelet $250, coin and stamp collection and assorted change.
July 27
A dispute over who owned an air-conditioner occurred at about 1 pm on 4th Street. Captain Jack Bunting responded and encountered Lee Jones in the face of Larry Miller telling him "You punk mother xxxxxx, I'll beat your mother xxxxxxx ass." Captain Bunting stepped between them and sent Lee Jones away, telling him to leave the property. He began to leave but continued cursing Miller.
When Jones turned back, he was placed in handcuffs. Lee Jones complained that the punk mother has a knife and Larry Miller was cuffed and they were both charged with disorderly conduct. In the end, Jones paid the $25 he owed Miller, which he had in his pocket.
July 23
Public Safety Investigators were patrolling the Stinson Street area in search of a wanted subject when they spotted Hugh Hutchinson in the street with others. Investigator Mark Esquivel was familiar with Hutchinson recently being arrested for indecent exposure and asked why his undergarments were showing.
Hutchinson was arrested for indecent exposure. In the standard search, Investigator Esquivel discovered $55 along with several small baggies used for marijuana in his pocket.
A plastic bag then fell from his waistline area containing 3 smaller bags of marijuana. Hugh Hutchinson, 20, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
July 21
Sheriff's Captain Eddie Williams received a call from Florida State Hospital security regarding an escapee from their facility. Cassandra Gann escaped from their facility on Sunday July 19. An employee of the hospital had reported the woman had been seen in her home on Sunday night.
Captain Williams, Chief Deputy Jim Morris, Major Wendell Cofer, Captain Spooner, Capt Nix, Investigators Crowder and Phillips and Captain Bowyer responded to Dell Road and met with officers from Gadsden County, Chattahoochee Police and Florida State Hospital Security.
The employee stated that she had awakened on Sunday night to see Cassandra Gann standing in her house. She looked away to awaken her husband and when she looked again for Gann, she was gone. No words were spoken, there were no signs of forced entry, and nothing was missing or even moved. Tracking dogs from ACI, the hospital and gadsden County Sheriff's were unsuccessful in picking up a track.
Florida State Hospital officers stated that their investigation indicated that Gann had been picked up by someone in Florida after leaving the hospital.
July 22
A resident at King West Apartments on Bethel Road reported items stolen from his apartment to Officer Demetric Stubbs. Reported missing were a .22 caliber revolver Smith & Wesson pistol, a .32 caliber automatic pistol, and a Samsung cell phone.
July 17
A mother on Planter Street reported her son being an unruly juvenile. Officers Jason Barlow and Cpl Brian Boyett arrived to the mother stating her son had taken her daughter's cell phone and would not return it.
The 12 year old became very loud and started yelling that he didn't have the cell phone. He then began calling his mother and sisters lying xitches. His mother also informed the officers there was a pickup order from juvenile probation on him. The juvenile started towards his room and Cpl Boyett told him to stop. When he did not, the officer reached out to grab his arm and he took off down the hall.
The juvenile was hand cuffed and led to the patrol car outside. Arriving at the car, the 4 ft, 90 pound juvenile turned and kneed the officer in the groin area. After being put in the car, he began trying to kick out the window of the patrol car and started hitting his head against the window petition.
To prevent him from hurting himself, Cpl Boyett rode in the back seat with the juvenile. On the ride to jail, he head butted the officer. The 12 year old was charged with unruly juvenile, obstruction of police officers and 2 counts of simple battery.
July 21
A car burglary on Timberlane Road was reported to BPS Sgt Ray Cox. The complainant stated the previous night someone had entered her unlocked car and stole an Alpine CD player and, from the truck, an Alpine amplifier. Items stolen were valued at over $500.
July 21
A Lord Avenue resident reported a burglary to Officer John Mills. The resident stated someone had pried through her window screens. Stolen was a X-Box 360, 4 games and clothes from her son's room.
July 21
At about 4:30 am, a resident at The Rivers Apts at 1105 Lake Drive reported a car burglary to Officer Beau Harrell. He stated that sometime the previous night his car window was broken out and stole a Pioneer CD player, two 12 inch Pioneer Kicker speakers and a Pioneer amp.
July 21
Also at about 4:30 am, Officer Beau Harrell spotted another car window at The Rivers Apts at 1105 Lake Drive was broken out. He awoke the resident who reported a Pioneer CD player was also taken from her vehicle.
July 20
A resident on South Potter Street reported a car burglary to BPS Sgt Ray Cox. The resident stated that sometime the previous night her car window was broken out. Stolen was a speaker enclosure containing two 10 inch Phosgate Subwoofers and an amplifier valued at $900. the items taken were later recovered by investigators behind Courtes d'Emerald apartments.
July 19
A resident on Yates Spring Road reported 2 weapons missing from his home to Deputy Brett Trammell. He stated a black and gray Ruger 9mm in a case and a black Highpoint 9mm. The value of both guns was reported as $800.
July 19
A car burglary on Sharp Street was reported to Officer Pat Bryant. The complainant stated the previous night that $300 of items were taken from the car.
July 19
A resident at Landmark Apartments reported to Officer Demetric Stubbs that $400 was stolen from her apartment.
July 17
A resident on Hall Street reported a $500 air conditioner had been stolen from his house. Witnesses reported to Officer Pat Bryant that Melvin Washington had taken it.
July 17
A resident on E Broughton Street reported to BPS Captain Jerry Carter that sometime in the afternoon a 2 ton floor jack and concrete finishing tools had been taken from his shed.
July 15
A resident on McNair Street reported to Officer John Mills that his car had been burglarized. He stated that sometime the previous night a $200 Pioneer Radio had been taken.
July 12
At about 10 pm, a car with a broken back window was reported to Officer John Mills parked at the fairgrounds on Vada Road. Sheriff's Investigator Redell Walton reported he had spotted a passenger side window of the car broken out. The owner was located who had parked the car there on Friday and gone to the beach with a friend. Stolen from the car was a Panasonic Radio/CD Player.
July 10
At about 7 pm, Captain Robert Humphrey met with the complainant regarding the theft of a motor vehicle. He told the Captain that he had purchased a orange 1993 Lexus from Gerard Anderson and left it at his residence to make arrangements to pick up the vehicle. He stated he had purchased the car for $900. When he returned to get the car at the Vada Road address, it was gone.
The complainant stated that Anderson said he does not know where the car was and that someone must have stolen it. Anderson reported to Captain Humphrey that he had previously talked with some haitians about buying the vehicle. He also stated he had not left the keys in the car and had no knowledge of who had taken it. He could not provide any identification for the car, neither the vin number nor the tag number. He did say it had big rims and tires on it.
July 10
Officer Archie Mills responded to Rivers Rivers Apartments regarding damaged property. The complainant stated her ex-boyfriend, Darius Green, had opened her locked door with a key and walked inside the residence. She snatched the key from Green and a fight started over the key. During the fight, Green pushed her into the wall slamming her elbow into the wall. She stated that Darius Green gave up trying to get the key back and then flipped the deadbolt out and slammed the door - damaging the door frame and deadbolt so the door would not lock.
July 10
At about 12 noon, a car burglary was reported to Officer Chris Jowers on Fountain Drive. The complainant stated that sometime the previous night the front passenger window had been broken out of his vehicle. He stated items taken from the car included a CD player, 2 amplifiers and two 12 inch woofers.
July 9
At about 5 pm, Sheriff's Captain Brad Lambert responded to a car burglary at Flint River Heights Landing. The complainant reported a RG .22 caliber, 6 shot revolver had been stolen from his vehicle along with coins and some flares.
July 8
A burglary was reported to Deputy Brett Trammell in the 2700 block of Spring Creek Road. The neighbor stated they witnessed a silver Jeep Cherokee occupied by a white male with brown hair pull into the front yard. The suspect was described to be in his late forty's wearing a black shirt. The suspect got out of his vehicle and got a crowbar from the rear compartment of the vehicle and walked to the front door.
The witness stated the suspect walked to the front door of the residence and looked inside, then walked to the back of the residence and pried the door open with the crowbar. The suspect entered the residence and left a few moments later.
Deputy Brett Trammell found the door jam broken and the residence appeared to be vacant. Investigator Crowder then arrived on scene and this investigation was turned over to him. The offender was identified as Jimmy Lee Rash of 126 Pine road, Montecello, FL.
July 8
Sheriff's Sgt. Efrain Beltran responded to a burglary at about 1:30 am to the same Blackjack Road residence struck July 3 in a $3,000 burglary. The residents reported the home broken into and $600 in items and prescription drugs stolen. Taken from the residence was a laptop computer and bluetooth. A safe box full of prescription pills were taken including Xanax.
July 7
At about 7:30 am. a burglary was reported by the Dollar General on North Griffin Avenue in Attapulgus to Deputy Nick Godwin. The manager reported arriving at work to find the front door glass broken out. The surveillance footage revealed that around 5 am, 3 black males pulled into the parking lot in a white four door car.
One of the subjects used what appeared to be an aluminum baseball bat to smash the glass out of the front door. He and another subject climbed through the door into the store while the 3rd male stood outside to be the lookout. They were not inside very long, came out, and they fled the scene.
Inside, it appeared the 2 had attempted to get through the office door, but failed and left empty handed.
The three subjects were described as follows:
Subject one: black male, tall, slender build, wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans, running shoes, and a black doo rag on his head. The subject kept his face covered with the top of his shirt.
Subject two: black male, short to medium height, slender build, black shirt, blue jeans shorts, black doo rag on his head, white scarf over his face, green wristband on left wrist, yellow wristband on right wrist and white & blue Nike Jordans.
Subject three: black male, short, stocky build, matching red shirt and shorts with a white stripe down both sides, Nike Jordans, and a black towel over his head. His face was partially visible.
Captain Gale Bowyer and Investigator Redell Walton are investigating.
July 6
Officer Gary Hines responded to a Scott Street store regarding check fraud. The manager showed him two fraudulent checks that had Domino's Pizza name printed in the top corner. The checks were cashed by an employee of the store in the amounts of $499.23 and $496.32. This fraud occurred on or around July 1. Video surveillance and copies of the checks were turned over to Public Safety investigators.
July 4
Cpl Brian Boyett responded to a water street residence regarding child neglect. The complainant stated her daughter, Sofia Gallardo-Matias, has an infant girl and was not properly taking care of the child. She reported Sofia refused to take the child to the doctor for check ups and exposed the child to domestic violence between her and her boyfriend, Jose Mtrinida.
Sofia was in her bed sleeping when Cpl Boyett arrived and when she woke up began yelling at the complainant. Sofia had bruises on both sides of her neck in shape of four fingers. Sofia stated that the bruises were hickeys. Cpl Boyett called DFACs and Jose was called to the residence.
While Cpl Boyett was speaking with Jose, Sofia ran out the back of the residence with the child. Shortly after, Jose's phone began ringing, he answered. Cpl Boyett asked Jose if he was talking to Sofia and he stated no. Sofia and the child was found inside a store close by.
Sofia stated she called Jose to come and get her and the child. Cpl Boyett began to place Sofia in handcuffs and she began kicking and swinging her arms trying to keep from being handcuffed. A store employee gave Cpl Boyett the number that Sofia had called and when he dialed it Jose's phone began ringing. Mtrinda Jose, 30, was charged with obstruction of an officer and Sofia Matias Gallardo, 19, of South Bay, FL was charged with interference with custody and obstruction of an officer.
July 5
At about 11:45 pm, Officer Archie Mills responded to a theft on E Water Street. The complainant stated he was standing in the front yard when a black male rode up to him on a bicycle, greeted him, and snatched his cell phone. He took off riding east on Water Street. No possible suspects were located in the area.
July 4
BPS Cpl Brian Boyett responded to Grocery Outlet in reference to drunk subjects in front of the store. He was told that there were three hispanic males that were intoxicated and standing in front of the store pulling their pants down exposing themselves to customers and employees.
Cpl Boyett and Sgt David Cutchin spoke to Nicolas Ruedas standing across the street with his pants below his waist. When Cpl Boyett asked for an ID, Nicolas stated "I don't need no xxxxing id. I am pure mexican."
Nicolas Ruedas, 30, of 126 Palm Street was charged with public drunkenness, public indecency and disorderly conduct. Alvaro Reyes, 26, of 909 Palm St Apt H was charged with public drunkenness and indecent exposure.
July 3
At about 8 am, Sheriff's Captain Brad Lambert responded to a burglary. The Blakjack Road resident reported that $3,000 in items had been stolen. He stated when he arrived home, he found his back door had been kicked in.

Mossberg 30-06 black rifle with scope, strap, bi-pod, all inside black case with 30 rounds of ammunition, $400, 24 kt. gold ring-r.c. engraving, $350, silver ring-e.c. engraving, $200, 24 kt. gold leaf ring, $350, pewter navy shield, $150, money clip-r.r.c. engraving, $300, money clip with diamond insert, $400, 24 kt. bracelet, $400, 24 kt. bracelet-elvis engraving, $400, and an X-box 360, $80.
July 2
Officer Ryan Deen responded to a car burglary from the previous night on Simmons Street. The complainant stated that during the night that someone entered his vehicle and taken his CD radio, two speakers and an amplifier.
July 2
At about 11:30 pm Sgt Marvin Knight responded to a stolen cell phone. Bobby Pugh stated that he was in the area of Las Lamas and Water Street when Roy Senior and another juvenile came up to him and asked him where he was going. Roy Senior appeared to point a pistol at him, they patted him down and took his cell phone. The suspects then rode off on their bicycles.
June 26
Officer Chris Jowers responded to a car burglary in the 1500 block of Shotwell Street. The complainant stated she parked her car in front of the building at about 6:30 pm and went into work. At about 10:30 pm she found her passenger window broken out. Items stolen included $60 in cash and coins and a set of checks.
June 29
A Planter Street resident reported a car burglary to Officer Chris Jowers. The complainant stated that sometime in the afternoon or evening her drivers side window was broken out and her purse was stolen.
June 29
At about 8 pm, Officer Jason Barlow responded to the complainant that stated Yoni Santos threw a rock through one of the windows of James Town Apartments and that he was very drunk. A resident stated that Yoni had been drinking and started beating on her door and wanted some beer.
She refused to open the door because she was very scared for her children. She saw Yoni pick up a rock and throw it at her front window. The rock put a hole in the wall.
Officer Barlow and Sgt Jon Harrison located Yoni, who had a cut between his eyes. He told them he did it to himself. He refused medical attention and admitted he threw the rock into the window. Yoni was arrested for criminal trespass and public drunk.
June 24
A 14 ft green Johnboat was reported stolen to Deputy Humberto Dean. The resident stated it was taken from the pond on his property off Highway 27 south. The value given was $700.
