An car burglary was reported to Deputy Patrick Trolinger at the Spring Creek Brinson Bridge. A man reported that when he returned from fishing a Garmin GPS and several cords had been taken from his vehicle.

A resident on Neal Street reported a car burglary to Sheriff's Sgt Steve Singleton. Missing from the vehicle was an Alpine CD player and an amplifier from the truck. The reported value of the items was over $400.
June 13
At about 2 pm, Officer Beau Harrell responded to animal neglect call at 936 Cooper Street. No one was at the home. The officer did discover a dead dog tied up to a chain link fence on a very short leash. There was no water or food for the dog.
The dog had dug a large hole trying to free itself before he died. The other dog, reported by the caller, was found hiding under a car parked next to the residence but then ran under the house. Animal control was notified and citations were to be issued. The occupant of the home was reported to be Sheila Green.
June 13
Officer Ryan Deen responded to the hospital for a reported theft. Juan Po Castro spoke very little english and had given a written statement that had been translated by a hospital staff member. The statement had been made and written down for hospital's own internal investigation of the theft. Castro reported that when he checked in to the hospital on Thursday, he had $800 dollars. On Friday, after his surgery, he reported he checked his belongings and his money was missing out of his wallet.
June 11
Close to 11 pm, Captain Jerry Carter noticed several people standing at a car in a parking lot on Calhoun Street. He heard a female cussing and calling someone a motherxxxxxx. The officer pulled in and was told all was OK and they were going home. As he was leaving, the female started up again. Two other females joined in the "discussion" with much of the same language.
The 3rd female, Jamie Carlton, was also cussing the driver and got out of the car with a cup of beer in her hand. Captain Carter told her she was under arrest and then some of her beer spilled on the officer.
Now the other female came back to the car cussing and talking loud and trying to grab Captain Carter. After being asked to step back several times, Cashanda Hicks and was told that she too was under arrest for disorderly conduct. Hicks tried to pull away and had to be forcibly pulled to the patrol car.
Cashanda Hicks really didn't want to go so she sat down in the parking lot and refused to get up. He and Officer Anthony Stubbs had to pick her up and place her in the patrol car.
Cashanda Hicks was cussing and so disruptive that she was transported directly to Decatur County Jail and booked for disorderly conduct and obstruction of police/resisting arrest. Jamie Carlton was transported to Public Safety where she was booked for disorderly conduct, paid her bail, and was released.
June 10
A resident on Broughton Street reported to Officer Ryan Deen her tires had been slashed. She stated she looked out to see Michael Thomas cutting her tires. She yelled at him and called 911. The brake line had also been cut.
June 9
A burglary at a Dothan Road business was reported to Sgt Ray Cox. The victim stated someone had entered the fenced area and into a storage shed. A $200 Craftsman push mower was stolen. He also reported that this was the 2nd burglary within a week and gave the officer the name of a former employee he suspected.
June 8
A burglary of a Chason Street resident was reported to Cpl Craig Carr. The resident stated that he arrived home from work to find one of his rifles laying on his bed. He then checked for his .357 magnum kept in his closet and found it missing.
June 6
A Bethel Road resident reported her car burglarized to Officer Kenneth Ellison. She reported someone had taken her car keys, 2 CD's and over $300 in medication.
June 5
A theft at the Decatur County Landfill was reported to Deputy Humberto Dean. Sometime Thursday afternoon or night, thieves stole a 6 X 8 trailer and used it to abscond with about 400 pounds of copper wire.
The trailer had a compressor set on it and was hooked to a 4 wheeler on the property. The thieves set compressor off the trailer and then used the 4 wheeler to pull the trailer loaded with the 400 pounds of copper wire to their own vehicle. The 4 wheeler was not stolen.
June 5
An alert neighbor in Attapulgus was driving away from her home when she spotted 2 males walking between her house and her neighbor's house. She turned around to see what was going on and found her neighbor's back window open. Inside were Markeith Miller and Antron Kinder and told them to get out or she would call the law.
They didn't and she did. Sheriff's Deputy Daryl Long responded and found a TV, lap top computer and a Play Station II were placed at the back window ready to be taken. Investigators Redell Walton and Gale Bowyer found that entry had been gained by kicking in the front door. A number of items were taken including about $1700 in jewelry and 3 checkbooks on a Florida bank.

A resident on Linda Street reported a burglary to Sheriff's Sgt Steve Singleton. He reported he came home to find the doors to his residence open. Over $1200 in items were missing from the home including a RCA 27" Flat Screen TV $550, RCA 32" Console TV $350, RCA DVD Player $50 and 8 American Eagle Polo Shirts $160.
June 4
A Lance Court resident reported a burglary to Deputy Steve Black. Reported missing from the home was a 27 inch Phillips flat screen TV.

A business on Dothan Road reported several items missing to Officer Chris Jowers. An OTC Scanner with a value of $3600 and a set of Cutting Torches valued at $500 were presumed stolen.

A Sharpe Street resident reported to Investigator Chris Jordan money missing from his car. He reported that the car had been left unlocked and $850 cash was taken.

A Belcher lane resident reported ton Captain Brad Lambert stolen jewelry. The jewelry was valued at a total of almost $1600 and included a 14 Kt. Gold Mens Ring-Square Diamond Set In Silver, 14 Kt. Gold Mens Ring-12 Diamond Cluster-Oval Shaped, 14 Kt. Gold Mens Ring-Tiger Eye With Diamonds On Both Sides and 14 Kt. Gold Mens Ring-Plain Tiger Eye.

A Bethel Road business reported a missing item to Officer Anthony Stubbs. A large floor air jack valued at $400 was presumed stolen. On May 25, this business also reported batteries and a charger stolen from a locked storage building.

A Josey Lane resident reported items taken from her residence to Deputy Daryl Long. Reported stolen was a GE Washing Machine, small beige refrigerator, car dolly and a red Honda 4-wheeler with missing carburetor.

Deputy Humberto Dean responded to Sykes Mill and Chason Roads for horses in the roadway. He found the 3 horses to be severely malnourished and abused. Deputy Dean was not able to locate an owner and contacted a horse rescue farm.

A resident of Scott Road in Brinson reported to Deputy Spencer Mock that her Dell laptop computer valued at $2000 was missing. She stated that she discovered it missing shortly after Michael Cox left her party the previous night. A witness reported that Michael Cox had the computer.

A resident of Jeff Powell road reported a stolen revolver to Deputy Michael Cox. He stated that a .38 caliber blue steel revolver was stolen from his residence.

A Ruth Drive resident reported a stolen pistol to Deputy Spencer Mock. The resident stated a .22 caliber steel gray pistol had been taken from his vehicle.

A female resident of Simms Street Apartments reported to Officer Gary Hines her door had been kicked in. She reported that she was getting dressed when she heard a loud bang. She found Anthony McKay in the apartment kicking over items. He fled the area before BPS arrived.

The ice cream truck won't stop in the 1000 block of Broughton Street any more. The driver reported he was stopped when the males, that always sit in the front yard at 1007-09 Broughton, began throwing and hitting his truck with objects. He stated he asked them to stop or he would call the police. The response he got was "Call the fxxxxng police." Officer Hines reports that this spot is a known drug spot.

A resident of Aryola Drive reported a stolen pistol to Deputy Patrick Trolinger. He stated a black Hi-Point 9mm pistol with an extended magazine was taken from his vehicle.
May 22
A resident in the 2600 block of Thomasville Road arrived home to find a knife she did not own setting on her coffee table. As she headed to her bedroom, the bedroom light went off and the door closed. She took off to her neighbor's house. As she ran, she spotted a tall slender male running behind her residence. She reported to Deputy Vincent Edmond that a new DVD player and assorted tools were missing.

A Black Widow 5 shot .22 magnum revolver was reported stolen to Sgt Ray Cox. The out of town aunt, her sister and her nephew had gone to several stores during the afternoon. At Wal-Mart, her 16 year old nephew stayed in the car. After she dropped him off on Water Street, she discovered the gun was gone. Officers could not locate the youth.
