Butch Mosely noted the recent passing of J.C. Dollar praising him for his service to the County saying "He made his mark in Decatur County and will be missed."
Commissioners approved the transfer of 22.7 acres at Commodore Decatur Industrial Park to the Development Authority. The City previously approved the transfer.

George Floyd, representing the Development Authority, stated they are in the final stages of negotiations for the purchase of the property by Atlanta Structural Concrete. They make pre-cast concrete forms for construction. The company has a plant in Buchanon GA with approximately 100 employees and wants to locate a plant closer to the Florida market.
The company has already begun preparing for work at the site with some equipment on the property now. Floyd stated it is anticipated they would invest $1.5 million in equipment and 24-25 employees are anticipated when at full strength.
Debbie McIntyre, Director of L.I.F.E., Learning Is For Everyone, updated commissioners. Her update included
- Established a GED orientation program at the Friendship House, with 15 sign-ups noting 1 has graduated.
- Providing GED in Spanish. Worked with Jeanie Bowen to develop a program to teach and test for a GED in Spanish and go on to college. She stated they could work on their english skills later.
- Over $400,000 has been raised by 14 counties for family literacy. The money will go for scholarships, dictionaries, books for children and other items.
