Robert Griffin's life was one of service and friendship.  First to his country in the Navy, then to the citizens of Decatur County.  Last Thursday morning, Robert made the ultimate sacrifice for us with his life.

A large contingent of law enforcement, emergency services, friends and family of Sheriff's Deputy Robert Griffin is expected for his funeral service on Monday afternoon.  During the 1:00 pm service, at First United Methodist Church, 300 W. Shotwell Street, many surrounding streets are expected to be closed including a portion of Shotwell Street.

Robert Griffin was 44 years old and retired from the navy.  His wife, Rosi, works in Tallahassee at Florida Lottery and they have 3 grown children.

Deputy Robert Griffin graduated from the law enforcement academy in 2005.  He was a member of the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team, SWAT.

After the crash, the Sheriff's Chaplain, Stephen Webb, Captain Cecilia Willis and Sgt Liz Croley immediately went to Tallahassee to notify his wife.

Our prayers go out to his family, his Sheriff's Department family and his friends.

Visitation: Sunday, May 4, 4 pm to 6 pm at Ivey Funeral Home
Funeral Service: Monday, May 5, 1 pm at First United Methodist Church
