Sheriff's Captain Chip Nix stated on Wednesday morning that they have identified 2 suspects in the murder of James Christian.

On Wednesday Sheriff's Investigators, along with GBI, Florida Wildlife and Game and the Decatur County Road Department, scoured a swampy area along Highway 241 in Attapulgus in search of the murder weapon.

Captain Chip Nix stated that witnesses brought them to the area and pointed out where the murder weapon had been disposed.

Captain Nix stated they now believe the murder was robbery motivated.  He also stated the community has been a big help and they expect to make several arrests very soon.

Captain Nix also urged anyone else that has information on James Christian's murder, to please contact the Sheriff's Department.
