Decatur County Sheriff's Captain Chip Nix has announced the arrest of the 2 individuals accused in the murder of James "Cake Daddy" Christian.

Charged with murder are 16 year old Marquez Taylor of 128 Black Jack Road and 25 year old Willie Earl McGriff of 115 Rosa Lee Lane in Attapulgus.  There will also face armed robbery charges.

Captain Nix credited the outpouring of citizen support in the quick resolution of the 3 am April 8th murder.  Earlier in the day, he stated they believed the murder was robbery motivated and he was able to confirm that on Wednesday evening.

All day Wednesday, 15-20 Sheriff's Investigators, GBI, Florida Wildlife and Game and Decatur County Road Department scoured a swampy area along Highway 241 in Attapulgus in search of the murder weapon.  At about 5 pm they did find what is believed to be the murder weapon.

Sheriff Wiley Griffin praised the diligent work, through a very long day, that enabled finding the weapon.
