Missing Guns? Juvenile Had Them

Recognize these guns?
Sheriff's Investigators Redell Walton and Victor Strickland are in search of the owner of these guns.  They are a Mossberg 20 gauge pump-action shotgun and a Hi-Point 9mm semi-automatic carbine.  If you do recognize them, please contact the Sheriff's office.
Update 11 am Thursday, per Investigator Strickland, the guns have been recognized by the owner and charges will follow.

They were recovered beside the home of 15 year old Robbie Miller on Batten Road.

On Tuesday, April 8, Robbie Miller's grandmother walked outside looking for the juvenile.  She walked around the house and found the 2 weapons, somewhat hidden, beside the home.  She called Sheriff's Deputies.

Investigator Strickland questioned the 15 year old but he said they were not his.  Deputies noted the guns had been wiped so there were NO fingerprints at all on the weapons.  (Nothing says experience like a wiped gun.)

Then last Friday night about 7:30 pm, Sheriff's Deputy Vincent Edmond responded to Batten Road for a residential burglar alarm.

When he arrived, he saw a window broken out of a Monte Carlo parked in the yard.  He then found a broken window in the rear of the house.  Nothing was missing from the home but they did find a small knife near the broken window.  The homeowner stated the knife was taken from the Monte Carlo.

Then another call went out regarding a suspicious black male juvenile knocking on the door at a nearby house requesting a ride to Havana, Florida.  Captain Justin Bedwell and Deputy Nick Godwin responded and found Robbie Miller walking north on Batten Road.   Captain Bedwell asked the juvenile to come over to his car. The juvenile stated, "Why ya'll xxxxing with me, I ain't stole shit!".

15 year old Robbie Miller took off running with Captain Bedwell and Deputy Godwin right behind ordering him to stop.  It was not until a taser was drawn and he was warned that he stopped running.

Deputies were attempting to handcuff the juvenile as he repeatedly called the deputies, "nxxxxxx, xxxing nxxxxxx, bxxxhes, etc" and continuously resisted the deputies.

Investigator Redell Walton processed the burglary scene.  Robbie Miller was arrested and transported to Blakely RYDC, where, for now, he remains.

Another Juvenile that fell through the cracks.
It appears this is another case of our failing to help a troubled youth early enough.  He is presently in the care of his 70+ year old grandmother.

Now, at 15 years old, with over 15 felony charges on his record and a proclivity for guns, we are doomed to either suffer from his crimes or pay for his incarceration from now on.

Hopefully, before somebody is killed, the Juvenile Justice System will make sure it is the latter.
