On Friday night, 2 were injured when their speeding car crashed through the trees at the dead end of north Scott Street, went airborne, and crashed down onto the railroad tracks.
About 3:30 am, Sgt Michael Hall was in a parking lot at Scott and Calhoun Streets. Sgt Hall heard the sound of a car at full speed and looked up to see the car fly past him. The car never slowed down when it got to the end of north Scott Street and crashed through the woods.
Apparently, the car got through the 15 feet of brushy area and hit something, probably the first set of railroad tracks, sending it airborne. The car crashed down onto the center set of 3 railroad tracks coming to a violent and abrupt halt.
As the railroad crossing clanged 200 yards away to indicate an approaching train, Sgt Hall called for Fire and Rescue and EMS to get there as quickly as possible. He also requested 911 to call the CSX railroad to alert them of the crash on their tracks. Decatur County Rescue was requested and also responded to the scene.
Bainbridge Public Safety had fire hoses ready for the smoking car engine as EMS rushed to tend to the victims. The driver of the vehicle was reported unconscious and the 2nd occupant had been thrown into the back seat.

The car was occupied by 2 FSU students. The driver was 20 year old William Curtis Graham of Wellington FL and the passenger was 20 year old Jordan Robert Strannigan of Merritt Island FL. Injuries were not life threatening and they are recovering at the hospital.
William Curtis Graham was charged with DUI and both for not wearing a seatbelt.
About 40 yards of the CSX train track was bent from the car crashing into it. A railroad crew was called from Thomasville to repair the track and before Saturday afternoon, the track was repaired.
