About 3 am Wednesday morning, James "Cake Daddy" Christian was murdered in front of his home on Bruce Road, off Highway 309 south.

Sheriff's Major Wendell Cofer stated that James entered his house and told his girlfriend he had been shot.  James then went back out the door while his girlfriend called 911.

James Christian was found on the ground at the front corner of his yard, in front of van in photo.  (The van was pulled in to give first responders treating him light.)  James' house is in the background.

First responders were on scene within minutes of the call and quickly began CPR on the victim.  EMS arrived and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after his arrival.

James was shot in the chest with a small caliber weapon.  The 29 year old Cake Daddy was a suspected drug dealer and it is thought the 3 am murder is drug related.

Immediately after their arrival, Sheriff's Deputies secured the crime scene.  Sheriff's investigators are processing the scene and Major Cofer stated their investigation continues.
