A gun was thrust to Baljeet Singh's head, she was thrown to the ground and struck in the head with the gun during an armed robbery of the Singh Food Mart early Thursday morning.

BPS Officer Humberto Dean responded to 2200 S West Street in reference to an armed robbery at about 6:15 am.  The 44 year old victim, Baljeet Singh, reported that one customer exited the store and a moment later two males entered.

They wore black hoods, black clothing and gloves. Singh stated one of the males stood at the front of the register and the other male came behind the counter with a gun and put the gun to her head demanding money.

Singh stated the male behind the counter was yelling "Give the money" and Singh replied "She did not have any money".  The male pushed the gun into her head even harder still demanding the money. Singh stated she was fearing for her life told the males she had some money in her vehicle.

The male behind the counter grabbed Singh by her hair and dragged her outside and threw her to the ground beside her vehicle.  Singh stated the other male grabbed her cell phone and the store phone taking it with them.

With the victim still on the ground, the thieves grabbed the money out of the vehicle and struck on the side of her head with the weapon.  They took off running north towards Bainbridge.  Singh went back into the store and a moment later a customer arrived.  He saw Singh covered in blood from the head injury and quickly called E-911.
