A girl fight was reported to 911 on Monday afternoon at the Quick Buys on Whigham Dairy Road.  Investigator Julian Crowder and Captain Liz Croley were in the area and pulled over behind the red PT Cruiser reported involved.

Short video of the scene
Pulling up behind them, Investigator Crowder reports that he witnessed Merry Turner and Rusti Lynn fighting.  The 2 females were separated.
Also in the car were Carson Givens and Todd Givens.
Carson and Todd each told the deputies a different story, so no validity was given to either of them.

Merry stated that Rusti came at her and started calling her a bitch and hit her.
Rusti stated that Merry got upset over her being jealous and was hitting her.
A witness at the Quick Buys reported she saw the 2 females "going at it".

Merry and Rusti live in the same house.

Deputy Michael Cox charged both 40 year old Rusti Anne Lynn and 25 year old Merry April Turner, of 241 Martin Road with Simple Battery (Family Violence)

Deputies are familiar with the individuals involved with a multitude of responses to 241 Martin Road over the past year.  Reports that were written by Deputies, and we included in our incidents, are below.

A resident on Bennett Rentz Road caught the grief of an angry girlfriend about 11 pm.  After drinking most of the day, the resident went next door to visit with some friends. Standing next door in the front yard an hour later, they heard glass breaking.

They turned to see Merry Turner breaking out the windows of his car.  He ran to stop her and they began to argue.  She then proceeded into the house and began breaking windows.  She was charged with criminal damage to property (family violence).

February's Grand Jury presentments noted the charge was dismissed.

Nov 27, 2008
There was an assault on 2 females and a patrol car on Thanksgiving night about 9:30.  Deputy Vincent Edmond responded to Vada Road and Prosperity Church to a domestic.  A female had been assaulted and thrown out of a car by her boyfriend.  While en route, 911 relayed that the incident was continuing at 241 Martin Road.

Deputy Vincent Edmond found the 40 year old female on Prosperity Church Road.  She stated that, with Carson Givens and another couple, they had been on the way to Martin Road when Carson began to argue with her and the other female.

She reported that Carson Givens then turned around from the front seat and began to punch her in the face.  She asked to get out of the car and the driver let her out.  She was on the side of the road with a busted, bloody lip and bruise marks on her chin, nose and forehead.

Deputy Steve Black arrived at 241 Martin Road and found Carson Givens sitting in the dining room smoking.  A female was in the living room crying.  Deputy Black advised Carson Givens to stand up and that he was under arrest for simple battery against his "girlfriend".  He stood up and a cuff was placed on one wrist.  Now the female in the living room was screaming about Carson Givens hitting her too.  Carson Givens stated he didn't do anything and continued to struggle with the deputy  all the way to the patrol car.

The other couple reported that they were in the living room and Carson began arguing with the female about her intruding in his argument with his "girlfriend".  He then got up began punching her in the face.  She had a busted lip and a bump on her forehead.

A few minutes later Deputy Edmond again spoke with Carson Givens about the incident and returned him to the patrol car.  As he walked toward the house he heard a loud banging sound.  The deputy looked back to see Carson Givens kicking the window of the patrol car and then the window shattered.  Carson was now placed in leg irons and transported to jail. Carson Brandon Givens, 34, was charged with obstruction of an officer, criminal damage to government property and 2 counts of family violence battery.
