About 4:30 Thursday morning, Public Safety officers responded to an alarm at Elcan King School.

In a thorough check of the building, Sgt David Cutchin found an open window at the rear of the school.  A couple of minutes later, 17 year old Thomas Parker was found walking away from the front door of the school.

Officer Demetric Stubbs stopped him.  In his pockets, they recovered a number of items stolen from a classroom.

Easter candy and cash donated for Relay for Life was recovered - you just shouldn't steal that.  He also had several other items including a bags of coins and over $50 in cash.

Today, Thomas Parker begins a journey he has only heard about.  Officers say they have dealt with him as a juvenile, but he has now turned 17 years old.

Mr Parker will now find out that an adult burglary does not get sent home to Moma.
