The Decatur County Board of Commissioners
March 11, 2008

Ted Snell noted that with oil prices so high, it is costing our citizens $1,000 to $1,500 per family.

Mr Snell speaks about cost of gasoline, 2 minutes

He stated it is time to do something.  He asked Commissioners to contact our Washington Legislators.  He asked pressure is needed to drill for oil in the 4 states where it is not allowed, Florida, California, Oregon and Washington.  He stated we need to find oil on our own continent.  He stated Congress is doing nothing to stem this problem.

Dr Craig Burnside resigned from the Solid Waste Advisory Board stating he is relocating to Texas.  He reviewed the last 2 years saying it began within a very "contentious" and untrusting atmosphere.  Dr Burnside stated because of the Committee, County Government and the hired engineer, solid waste is in good shape today.  Commissioners praised his work with the Committee.
