The Southern Bladesmiths, a group of local knife makers, is inviting the public to their coming Hammer In.  The group, made up of members throughout the southeast, formed in 2004 to help promote and teach the crafts of the past.

The Hammer In will be held on Saturday, February 20th, beginning at 8:30 am and the public is invited at no charge.  This will be a great opportunity for everyone to watch this passing craft and gain knowledge of the hand forged knife.

Experience everything from watching skilled smiths demonstrate to actually having hands on instruction utilizing an anvil, hammer and forge.

Several raffles will be held for custom knives including a featured Damascus knife(at left) made by local artist T. Paul McGowen.  Tickets may be purchased for $5.00 at the event or in advance at Bainbridge Machine at 614 West College Street.

A chili lunch will be available followed by a cutting competition put on by skilled blade smiths. For questions and more info, please use the BainbridgeGA contact form, Att Glenn.

Directions to Event
From Bainbridge take Highway 253 south to the 4-way stop at County Road 374.  Continue straight on Hwy 253 and just past the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department and you will see signs posted for the event.
