Jesse Torres
Or is this some ploy to try to excuse him for his violent crimes?

Jesse Torres also had claimed to be an ex Law Enforcement Officer.  We understand that before he even went to school to become a LEO, he was fired from the agency that hired him.

Sheriff's Captain Chip Nix received a call from Juan Torres, Jesse's brother, who reported that Jesse Torres told him where some illegal narcotics were located in the house belonging to Jesse Torres. Juan Torres stated that he and Jesse's wife found drugs (kush) in a recliner and placed it in a ziploc bag. Juan Torres stated that at that time, he called Jesse's attorney, Robert Morris.

It was decided to call Captain Nix and have him seize the drugs.  According to the report, attorney Robert Morris told Captain Nix that Jesse Torres had disclosed to his brother that before going to Florida, he had used drugs and was under the influence.

At the house on January 19, Jesse's brother and wife directed Captain Nix to a ziploc bag containing a foil type bag with the words "kush" & "strawberry" written on the bag. The bag contained a green substance.  Captain Nix took the bag into evidence.
