A domestic last Saturday night between 27 year old Jesse Torres and his wife resulted in an attempted 1st degree murder in Leon County.

After a domestic occurred between Torres and his wife at their 1212 Majestic Avenue home, she took off for Tallahassee. Some hours later, Jesse Torres located her and a female friend at a home in Tallahassee. Torres went into the home and spotted a male friend coming out of a bedroom. When he saw Torres with a shotgun, he turned and fled back into the bedroom.
Jesse Torres then shot at him through the bedroom door. Torres continued into the bedroom, now irate, struck his wife with the butt of the shotgun and threatened to kill her.
Leon County contacted Bainbridge Public Safety to assist in locating and arresting Torres. On Sunday morning, a heavily armed contingent of Bainbridge Public Safety surrounded Torres' home, Investigators Mark Esquivel, Chris Jordan, Captain Frank Green, Captain Ryan Wimberly, Sgt James Dollar and several officers participated.
Investigator Mark Esquivel called Torres on the phone and spoke with him about the situation. After some conversation, Jesse Torres agreed to come out of the house and give himself up, which he did with no incident.
Investigator Esquivel proceeded to request a search warrant for the home and at about 1 pm on Sunday secured what is thought to be the shotgun used in the assault.
Jesse Andrew Torres, 27, of 1212 Majestic Avenue, Bainbridge, is in the Leon County jail charged with attempted 1st degree murder, armed burglary with person battered/assaulted and aggravated battery domestic.
