A first look at the preliminary Waterfront Master Plan

The Genesis Group presented an overview of their suggested long range plan for the development of the waterfront area and it's connectivity to the downtown area.

A conference center be placed where leisure services is now overlooking the river.

A hotel should be built where purchasing is now, across the street from the present leisure services. A 412 space, 4 story parking garage (1 below grade) adjacent to this area. Retail/Office space could provide the facade of the parking garage.

Cheney Griffin Park would have a traffic circle in the center of the present parking area.

Interactive water features would be established.

Basketball courts would be established

A skate park would be established

Riverwalks created to connect the downtown around the boat basin with vantage points over the river

Boat Ramps area to be converted to a Day Marina center.

Establish a Environmental Education Area

Riverfront Amenity areas to include fishing platforms over the river, kayak launch area, picnic pavilions with defined parking

Ticket booths, concessions and restrooms built for the existing amphitheater. Establish a 3% slope in front for better viewing which would create a 12 foot wall.

Relocate the boat ramps into the old ballfield area with parking

A recreation area with Disc Golf Course, Expanded Playground, Parking, Restrooms, Family Pavilions

A swim park is built

Swim Center that is capable of holding national competitions
