The 2005-2006 Bainbridge High School Bearcat Band
The Bainbridge High School ‘Bearcat’ Band is a sophisticated marching unit consisting of more than 200 members, grades nine through twelve. The Bainbridge High School Marching Band has established itself as one of the finest marching bands in the United States, with being selected to perform in the Macy’s 75th Anniversary Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2001 being the latest accomplishment on its resume. The Bearcat Band has maintained high standards of excellence through years of continuous dedication by the students, directors, parents and school administration. In light of this commitment to superior quality, the Bainbridge Band has been officially recognized and commended by the Governor of the State of Georgia on seven occasions. The band has also received commendations from the Georgia State Legislature, the City of Bainbridge, and the Decatur County Board of Education. In 1992 the band had the Honor to perform for former President George Bush’s son Jeb Bush who attended one of their football games just to see the Bainbridge Band. This championship, free-style marching band has participated in many different forms of competition throughout the Southeast. Under the direction of Paschal Ward, receiving Superior ratings at competitions has become the norm for the Marching ‘Bearcats’.
